Boklua View gives you the chance to experience a rural lifestyle in an unspoiled part of Thailand. Take in the quiet pace and rhythm of typical village life in a beautiful secluded valley below the Thai/Laos border ridge.

We're located on the banks of the Mang River in the ancient salt well village of Bo Luang, where local Htin people have produced salt for more than 700 years. Life is still simple and unhurried and Boklua View gives you the chance to experience a part of Thailand seen by little.

The resort is owned by Toun Upajak, an English speaking Thai who was born in Bo Klua. He is a trained chef and worked in Bangkok hotels and restaurants before returning home to set up Boklua View.

Emphasis in building and operating the resort was on using local labour and materials wherever possible and all staff are local Htin.

Room rate

Rates vary with the season, being at their lowest from May to October and their highest for the December/January New Year period. The average rate is 1500bt per night for two people, including VAT and buffet breakfast.

An extra person in the room is 300bt per head, including breakfast.

Check in time is 1pm. Check out time is 12noon. Rooms without a deposit cannot be held beyond 5pm.

Eleven bungalows sit around a terraced rice field and are fringed by National Park. All have been sited to offer privacy and to make the most of the views down the valley or across to the mountains.

The bungalows are air conditioned (it is seldom needed) and feature large verandahs to catch the breezes.

By Air

Nan is the nearest airport to Bo Klua. Nok Air flies daily from Bangkok to Nan. There are also daily flights from Chiang Mai to Nan via Kan Air. We can arrange airport pick up.

By Car

Head north from Nan to Pua on highway 1080 – a 60 kilometre drive. At Pua proceed through the town and after passing Kasikorn Bank on the left, take the U turn back up past the town market. Turn left after the market and go about 100 yards, passing under a pedestrian bridge. Just after the bridge turn left onto Highway 1256 to Doi Phu Kha National Park. You then wind up and over the mountain ridge – 45 kilometres and about 45 minutes of mountain scenery on a good paved road, but with many twists and turns. As you come down off the mountain into the Mang River Valley, you pass a hospital on the right. Boklua View is 100 yards further on, to your left, just before the bridge over the Mang River.

By Bus

Take an overnight bus from Mor Chit Bus Terminal to Nan or Pua. From Pua you can take a private or public songthaew (the little van/trucks) to Bo Klua. Public songthaews only run a few times a day. We can arrange pick up from Pua.
